Head of State: The Venezuelan People have charted the course to build Popular Self-Government

This Monday, May 26, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized that with the significant victory of the revolutionary forces, in the Regional and Legislative Elections, the People of Venezuela have charted the course, with their vote, to build the power of communities, of a new democracy: Popular Self-Government in the territory.

During the Editorial, in the 80th edition of his program “Con Maduro+”, he stated that “let us humbly assume this victory, it is a blessing from God, it is the opportunity to develop ideas that will lead us to a concrete solution in action to the problems of our country”.

He confirmed that the great message of the Venezuelan People is the construction of Popular Self-Government, “in the face of the decay and collapse of the old Western civilization, of the old liberal democracy, exhausted, bourgeois, by corruption, inefficiency and incapacity that no longer truly represents the thrust of history.”

“An alternative emerges from Venezuela in a modest and humble way, direct democracy, of the Commons, of the People,” he said.

He also stressed that it is not him as head of state who has more power, but rather the grassroots people, “international leaders say that now Maduro has more power, they cannot understand Venezuela, it's not Maduro, it's the humble people.”

It also ratified the offer to carry out a set of works in the 10 most voted Community Circuits in each state of the country.
