The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized that Venezuela is not a land of criminals or the Aragua Train, but that it is a land of Santos, referring to the canonization of Saint Joseph Gregorio Hernández and Saint Carmen Rendiles, by the Vatican, this Sunday, October 19.

“That's the way we are, good, decent, believing and devoted people,” he said.

Faced with the historic religious act, he stressed that “Venezuela is happy because now we have our two Saints, José Gregorio Hernández and Mother Carmen Rendiles”.

The head of state maintained that the Venezuelan people should know that there was conspiracy for many years against the sanctification of José Gregorio Hernández, such as priest Baltazar Porras, who dedicated “his life to avoiding his canonization, but they have been defeated”.

“We persevered until the truth reached Pope Francis. Thanks to him, because he was interested in the story I told him personally,” he said.

“We have San José Gregorio Hernández, in spite of Baltazar Porras and his brotherhood,” he said at the inauguration of the Room for Self-Government and Presentation of Community Projects in the Comuna 8 Raíces, in La Pastora, in the framework of the 13th Anniversary of the Timon Coup, for which it is planned to deliver more than 20,000 works nationwide, in an activity called the Obratón.

He also commented that there are many Venezuelans who have experienced the miracles of Doctor José Gregorio Hernández.
