We had a sanctioned, persecuted economy, but we overcame it.” This was stated by the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro at a conference held at the Miraflores Palace with representatives of the country's banking, stock exchange and insurance companies.

He stressed that the Central Bank of Venezuela, as the country's highest monetary authority, has a great responsibility to ensure that the exchange system created within the framework of the sanctioned economy remains robust, no matter what conjuncture it may have to pass and is strengthened from now on.

“What I can tell you as President of the Republic and the highest authority of the Public Treasury: you know that you can count on my full support so that we can continue designing, building and strengthening the exchange system that Venezuela has created in these difficult years, which will be the one that will transcend and survive in the years to come,” he said.

He specified that “in Venezuela there was a war against the economy, but with the advancement of the economy and the achievement of the first elements of economic prosperity in the years to come, let's hope that the wound will heal and everyone that ever came out will return (...) That's going to be the case.”
