The Popular and Communal Government System consolidates “direct democracy without intermediaries, participatory and leading,” said Vice President for Social and Territorial Socialism, Héctor Rodríguez, this Wednesday.
From the Waraira Repano Commune, in the San José parish of Caracas, where he accompanied the activation of a Room of the Popular and Communal Government System, he assured in this regard that this model is based on the participation of the social comptroller of all the projects to be carried out by the community itself.
“We have to see how we choose the best spokespersons, how we make accountability permanent and control resources and executions among neighbors,” he said.
He stressed, according to a press release from the social vice-presidency, that the Popular Government System cannot be a competition between communal, municipal, regional and national governments, because it is an articulation of the four levels of government, where popular power is the one that prioritizes.
The Hall of the Popular and Communal Government System of the Waraira Repano Commune is located on Calle Real de Cotiza and Calle Forestal and serves 1,873 families.
