This Tuesday, the Hezbollah leadership announced that the Shura Council agreed to elect Sheikh Naim Qassim as the new general secretary, succeeding the martyr leader Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah assassinated by Israel.

In the official statement, the political and military group argued that the decision complies with the established procedure for the election of the general secretary and, with it, strengthens the work of the Shiite group to achieve victory.

“We commit ourselves to God and to the spirit of our most noble and beloved martyr, the honorable Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, as well as to the martyrs, the fighters of the Lebanese Resistance and our resilient, patient and loyal people,” he said.

Likewise, Naim Qassem urged us to work together to achieve the principles of Hezbollah and the objectives of its trajectory, “keeping alive the flame of the Resistance and its flag held high until victory is achieved,” the statement reads.
