After 48 hours without drinking water supply, the service was restored in the municipality of San Fernando, in the state of Apure, benefiting some 30,000 families, whose interruption was due to the failure of a pump on the María Nieves bridge over the Apure River, which supplies the city.
The president of the Los Llanos Hydrology Company (HIDROLLANOS), Juan Carlos Turaren, reported that the La Defensa water treatment plant, located in the municipality of San Fernando, operates under normal conditions and is in the process of recovering the distribution network to achieve adequate flow and pressure levels.
He thanked the people of San Fernando for their patience and understanding and reaffirmed their commitment to continue working to ensure an efficient and quality water service for all.
The operation required a large deployment of State security agencies, who restricted vehicle traffic over the María Nieves bridge during the work, so that in the early hours of today the work would be completed to replace the equipment and start pumping for the treatment and distribution of the vital liquid.
