Historical Pact tops Colombia's legislative result with more than 3.7 million votes

The Historical Pact ranked as the most voted list for the Senate in the legislative elections in Colombia on March 8, exceeding 3 million 761,100 votes with 80% of the pre-count.

The coalition also reached the largest bench in the House of Representatives, according to the partial results released during the day, Telesur reported.

In these elections, 41 million 287 thousand 84 citizens were authorized to vote in 125,259 tables distributed in 13,746 seats throughout the country. The election defined 108 seats in the Senate and 188 in the House, for a total of 296 legislators who will take office on July 20, 2026.

Later, the presidential candidate of the Historical Pact, Iván Cepeda, affirmed that the coalition is consolidating itself as “the main political force in Colombia” and called for strict monitoring of the scrutiny. He noted that the result supports the reforms promoted during the current administration and announced that he will promote a “citizen rebellion against corruption” as the axis of his presidential campaign.
