History Network opened call for national and international congresses in Mérida

The History, Memory and Heritage Network opened the call for the XVIII National and V International Congress of History, to be held from December 10 to 14, 2026 in the state of Mérida, with the participation of researchers, teachers, chroniclers, students and social movements.

The first application phase for symposiums will be open until October 15, while the publication of the approved proposals will take place on the 16th. From that date and until November 10, the papers will be received, and the registration of participants will take place from November 10 to 20, according to a Venezuelan Television review.

Those interested in presenting symposiums should send their proposals to [email protected], with the title, a summary of the central argument, the names of up to three people responsible and the corresponding thematic axis.

Among the planned topics are the thought and legacy of Simón Bolívar and Francisco de Miranda, the processes of independence in Our America, historical resistances, the geopolitics of the 21st century, the history of women, labor relations, cultural heritage and the challenges of teaching history.

The meeting also includes the participation of the Government of Mérida and the Venezuelan chapter of the Association of Latin American and Caribbean Historians (ADHILAC). To consult the rules and obtain more information, the portal www.cesimonbolivar.com.ve is available.
