Hurricane Milton, which reached the United States (USA) in category 3 on the Saffir-Simpson scale and crossed the Florida Peninsula (southeast) during the night of Wednesday and early Thursday morning, left in its wake several fatalities, millions of homes and businesses without electricity, and serious damage to infrastructure.

Previously, several tornadoes affected the state before the hurricane hit and caused at least people killed in a retirement community in St. Lucie, on the east coast of Florida, facing the Atlantic, Telesur detailed.

In Florida, more than 2 million customers were left without power. The most affected counties were Hardee with 98 percent of its users (9,446 customers) and Manatee with 82.4 percent (214,999).
