The president of the National Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents Autonomous Institute (IDENNA), Anaí Arizmendi, signed two agreements with representatives of the Forging the Future Foundation, and with the Regional Coordination of Working Children and Adolescents (CORENATS).
In a press release from IDENNA, he points out that the main objective of the agreements is to train more than 200 children and adolescents as popular communicators, and to activate Ombudsmen for the protection of children and adolescents in the Sucre municipality, in the state of Miranda.
The activity was carried out at Hacienda Ibarra, located at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), in the San Pedro parish of the Libertador municipality, Caracas, which was led by Arizmendi, accompanied by the General Director of the Ministry of Popular Power for the Office of the Presidency and Monitoring of Government Management, Ágatha Cocozzelli.
In this context, infants and young people who are members of the CORENATS program will benefit from signing this agreement, in order to train the children and adolescents who are part of the NNA workers program, an initiative that provides for the creation and repromotion of the Popular Communication Brigade for Boys, Girls and Adolescents in the states of Lara and Trujillo.
He explains that the program of popular communicators, has as its initiative to promote the right to information and participation in the child and adolescent population, a proposal that is developed to guarantee the leading participation of children, in all communities, urban and rural sectors, in the country.
Arizmendi also emphasized that children and adolescents “are subjects of rights, they are guarantors of communication law, of what is happening in their communities, because they are the present and future of the Fatherland.”
He stressed that this initiative will strengthen the Office of the Defender of the Rights of Children and Adolescents, as guaranteed by the Organic Law for the Protection of Children and Adolescents (LOPNNA).
Institutional alliances between IDENNA and the Forging the Future Foundation were also strengthened, in order to continue working for the protection and guarantee of the rights of children and adolescents, an agreement that is part of the Plan for the Communalization of the Child and Adolescent Protection System, aimed at the integration of all communities and Popular Power.
