The Attorney General
of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported that the Public Ministry (MP) will issue a third and final summons
to the former right-wing candidate, Edmundo González Urrutia.
In this regard, Saab explained
that “according to the jurisprudence of the Criminal Chamber, a person can be summoned
up to three times as an investigator to make statements
in an ongoing proceeding against this person,” adding that if González does not attend, the Attorney General's Office
will announce the corresponding action.
The owner of the fiscal action pointed out that González intended to disobey the laws, while attracting the
attention of some international media by showing a falsified reality, “because if the CNE was good for Edmundo González to register with several
cards with his face, with table witnesses, now that the governing body gives a
result he prefers to disrespect and challenge that institution,” he said.
The former candidate's ignorance of the institutionality began
with the non-acceptance of the electoral results announced by the
National Electoral Council (CNE), followed by the failure to appear before the
Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) after President Nicolás Maduro filed the contentious appeal
, and finally failed to comply with two subpoenas from the MP.
