In a perfect popular-military-police merger, the ODDI are activated in Mérida

In the Integral Defense Operational Zone (ZODI) of the state of Mérida, the Management Bodies for Integral Defense (ODDI) were activated, as part of Plan Independence 200, with the objective of guaranteeing defense.

The governor of the state of Mérida, Arnaldo Sánchez, assured that the people of Merida heeded the call of President Nicolás Maduro and, in a perfect popular-military-police merger, he strengthens the Independence Plan 200.

He also stressed that together with the different authorities of the state, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, Civil Protection, Firefighters and the organized people, the national defense is strengthened.

“There are 27 territorial tasks against the air campaign and systematic wear and tear, in our 23 municipalities, with a total of 11,300 km² of territory, we guarantee security and with it our independence and sovereignty,” said Sánchez.

He asserted that the people of Merida tell the world that they will continue to defend their Homeland, their history and their territory. “We are going to guarantee the security, defense and comprehensive development of our nation,” he said.

“In these lands that received the Liberator Simon Bolivar, which were part of the Admirable Campaign, we united with our people, with the People's Power, with our militiamen, peasants, producers, to tell the world that here is the people of Mérida who defended and fought for independence more than 200 years ago,” he said.
