In Aragua! Ocumare de la Costa de Oro celebrates Creole Sweets Fair at El Malecón

On the weekend of September 5 and 6, the emblematic El Malecón de Ocumare sector of the Gold Coast will be dressed up in party, aroma and flavor to host the long-awaited Criolla Sweets Fair.

The initiative, promoted in a joint effort between the mayor's office of Ocumare de la Costa de Oro, the Secretariat of Tourism of the state of Aragua and CORPOTUR, promises to become the family meeting point par excellence to give a sweet close to the 2026 vacation period.

According to a press release, the event will bring together between 20 and 25 growers, traditional confectioners and artisans from the town, who will offer residents and visitors a varied sample of the native pastries of the Aragüeña coast. Attendees will be able to enjoy emblematic delicacies such as traditional coconut kisses, preserves, fine elaborations derived from Costa Rican cacao, homemade cakes and a wide range of Creole sweets made with ancient techniques.

Starting at 5:00 in the afternoon, El Malecón will come to life to boost the local economy and strengthen the area's gastronomic roots.

“This activity not only seeks to provide a recreational space for the public, but also to directly support the work of local entrepreneurs who keep alive the cultural identity and culinary heritage of Ocumare de la Costa,” said Mayor Wilmer Leal, while thanking the government's government and tourism institutions for their support.

The invitation is open to locals and tourists to enjoy a pleasant day, full of tradition, coastal warmth and the unmistakable flavor of the sweets of the Aragüeña coast.
