In Barinas! More than 70 pets received rabies shots

More than 70 pets received medical care during a special day of the Rabies Vaccination Plan, held at the headquarters of the Barinas State Health Directorate.

The state coordinator of Zoonosis and Epidemiological Surveillance, María Mercedes García, reported that the operation benefited the pets of the staff of the National Public Health System and the inhabitants of sectors surrounding the El Carmen parish.

According to a press release, during the activity, dogs and cats received anti-rabies doses and deworming treatments with 10% Albendazole.

García highlighted the massive attendance of workers in the health sector and the community in general. He also recalled that rabies represents a highly dangerous zoonotic disease, but fully preventable with timely immunization.

Keeping the vaccination schedule for domestic animals up to date is an indispensable measure to protect the health of Barinese families and an act of responsible ownership.
