In Caracas, the ODDI were activated as part of the Independence Plan 200

The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, led the activation of the Management Bodies for Integral Defense (ODDI) early this Wednesday morning, as part of Operation Independence 200 to guarantee the country's peace and territorial defense.

Meléndez indicated that after the activation of the ODDI in Caracas, the 27 territorial actions initiated by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, are being carried out.

“In Caracas, we are going to work on territorial actions in this deployment that we will carry out to preserve the forces and means of our Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB),” he said.

For his part, the general commander of the Bolivarian Militia, MG. Orlando Romero, assured that there is an active people and that the organization of the Community Militia Units in the capital city is perfect, since “they are organized and in a military-popular-police fusion.”

“I assure you that the organization is perfect here since the communities, the communal circuits, the popular bases of popular defense are organized and are merged,” he said.

Likewise, the head of government of Caracas, Nahum Fernández, during the activation of the Management Bodies for Integral Defense, said that “Caracas will show all the [defense] capabilities in the city to guarantee the territorial integrity where the public powers of the Venezuelan State live.”

He also highlighted the work of the firefighters, Civil Protection and motorized personnel who are part of the activity, through the force organized in defense of the nation.

“We are trained and prepared to defend our Republic, independence and sovereignty, the task of passing through impregnable territory,” said Fernández.
