In the framework of Operation Fog 2024, FANB destroyed illegal mining material in Amazonas

The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), within the framework of Operation Bolivarian Shield “Neblina 2024”, during land patrol operations, located, dismantled and destroyed material used for illegal mining in the Caridad sector, in the state of Amazonas.
Through his account on the social network Instagram, the Strategic Operational Commander of the FANB, G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez, pointed out that this action is aimed at protecting the Amazon territory, “in accordance with the provisions of the 5th objective of the Homeland Plan, the 7T, the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, security and defense plans, Environmental Criminal Law and Water Law”.
He specified that among the materials seized and destroyed, nine 15 HP motor pumps stand out; eight plastic drums with a capacity of 220 liters; 20 meters of hose and 40 meters of black plastic.
Hernández Lárez stated that in the state of Amazonas, according to the territorial legal system, mining and hydrocarbon exploitation is totally prohibited.
“Land in the national territory is not negotiated, it is not sold and it cannot be alienated. National parks and forest areas must be protected by all citizens, since they are under a special conservation protection regime. No national or foreign human group will be above the interests of the Venezuelan State,” he said.
He also urged citizens to have individual and collective awareness, and recalled that the population plays an important role in protection, “the protection of the environment for the survival of the human species on the planet is established in the fifth strategic objective of the nation.”
