INAMEH rules out direct effects of Tropical Storm Dolly in Venezuela

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMEH) monitors the movement of Tropical Storm Dolly across the Caribbean, which will not have direct effects on the national territory.

The president of INAMEH, Reidy José Zambrano, explained that the storm maintains a northwesterly trajectory. “According to all models, both statistical and dynamic, it has a very northwestern trajectory. In other words, we don't expect direct effects for the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,” he said.

Regarding general weather conditions, Zambrano noted that since last June there has been the presence of the El Niño phenomenon in its warm phase.

INAMEH reported the passage of tropical wave number 42, which will cause cloud cover and rain in Anzoátegui, Miranda, La Guaira, Aragua, Carabobo, Yaracuy, Lara, Falcón and the Capital District.

“As of May 1, the passage of tropical waves began, where we closely and thoroughly followed it up. And from that precise moment on, we predict between 52 and 57 tropical waves that will form and that will pass through our country between 41 and 46,” he explained.
