This Saturday, February 15, the president of the Simon Bolivar Study Center, Alejandro López, presented the conclusions of the seminar entitled From the Angostura Speech to the Blue Book; and he ratified the commitment of the Insurgent History Movement to carry out the debate on the Constitutional Reform Proposal throughout the country.

“These two books are the founders of our National Project, because they are focused on the principles of equality and social justice, of popular education, of the practice of independence, of anti-imperialism, of the unity of the American peoples,” he said during the Solemn Session for the 206th anniversary of the installation of the Angostura Congress.

He also reaffirmed that both writings invite, in these times, “to assume the construction of the Homeland, to guarantee the greatest happiness of the People and to create together a supportive way of life for Venezuelan women and Venezuelans. The Angostura Speech and the Blue Book are constituent documents”.

In addition, he stressed that these books “are born in times of radical transformation, in times of struggle against imperialism, in moments of refounding of the Republic”, which make them “references in our political, patriotic and revolutionary identity, calling us to deepen democracy”.

“The content of the Angostura Speech and the Blue Book come to life in a democracy like ours, which is strengthened and rooted in the daily life of the People, a democracy in constant movement where collective decision-making sets the course of our nation in terms of equality, independence and peace,” he said.

For this reason, he reaffirmed the commitment of the Insurgent History Movement “to bring to every corner of the Homeland the discussion of the Constitutional Reform proposal (...) so that we can achieve the greatest amount of happiness possible, the highest amount of social security and the greatest amount of political stability”.
