Between November 27 and 30, the state of Mérida will host the Venezuelan International Book Fair (FILVEN), with the support of the Municipal Institute for Culture, Conservation, Documentation and Historical Studies (INMUCU), the activity will turn the entity into a literary reference center for four consecutive days.
The fair will bring together more than 35 national and international publishers, consolidating itself as one of the most important meetings in Venezuelan literature. The program includes presentations, talks and activities that will allow the exchange between authors and readers.
In addition, more than 90 titles will be exhibited in the spaces of the Tulio Febres Cordero Cultural Center, with the participation of writers, poets and representatives of the publishing sector. The venue will become a meeting point for those who promote literary creation and the promotion of reading.
The president of INMUCU, Carlos Rodríguez, reported through a press conference that the event has the support of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro and Governor Arnaldo Sánchez, who promote this initiative as a space to disseminate local and national cultural production.
Rodríguez stressed that this initiative contributes to the economic dynamism of the city and strengthens the region's cultural identity and invited the population to participate in the fair, considered the country's main literary celebration, which seeks to project Mérida as the international capital of books.
