The use of hate speech and violence to settle political differences must be rejected anywhere in the world and, on the contrary, it must be democracy, the right to vote, that prevails in these cases, said Filip Ristic, an international observer who will participate in the elections this May 25.

“Without giving an opinion, as observers, we have to point out that, for example, as happened in 2015, the ruling party immediately recognized its defeat as on other occasions. However, a part of the Venezuelan opposition has a rather violent discourse that fails to recognize the result of the elections (...) What cannot be accepted are hate speech, violence, the practice of violence,” Ristic said in an interview with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).

On the other hand, this French ombudsman questioned the fact that, on previous occasions, international guests have attended the country who, in disrespect of Venezuelan laws, carry out actions of interference in the internal affairs of our country.

For his part, Christian Rodríguez, also an observer from France, highlighted the peace that exists in the country at the time of the electoral event on May 25.

Venezuela is a country at peace, seeking peace. Venezuelan citizens want peace. It has been seen in all electoral processes that, despite the sanctions, the blockade, the international media silence, there has always been this of wanting to participate, of giving an opinion on the destiny that each citizen wants for the country and peace wins,” said Rodríguez.

In this regard, Rodríguez invited the Venezuelan people to “take care” of the Electoral Power, which, as he emphasized, is necessary to ensure that every Venezuelan can participate and freely choose who will direct the country's destinies.
