The National Institute of Land Transportation (INTT) carried out a day of exchanging Sandoval helmets in the vicinity of Playa Sonrisa, in Puerto Cabello, Carabobo state.

The activity was led by the president of the INTT, Luis Granko, in the company of local authorities and public security bodies, who brought together hundreds of motorcyclists, to participate in road classrooms and in dynamics for the exchange of helmets.

The essential requirement to participate was that citizens have their complete and up-to-date documentation to operate this type of vehicle, and that they present themselves with a Sandoval helmet that should be disabled at the site of the activity, according to the INTT press.

The president of the INTT asserted that citizens must understand the danger posed by traveling on the national road network with a helmet devoid of protection on the back of the neck, jaw, ears and sight.

During the activity, a video made by the INTT, in collaboration with the National Service of Medicine and Forensic Sciences (SENAMECF), was released, which reveals the almost zero protection offered by classic helmets, and shows what the bones of the head look like after an impact against the pavement or blunt object, in a road event.

This activity is part of the campaign “Give Sandoval a stop, wear a suitable helmet”, launched by the INTT in the national territory.
