The president of the National Institute of Land Transportation (INTT), G/D Gabriel Aguana Rodríguez, during an interview with the program Buena Vibra, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), explained that 85% of traffic accidents are related to the use of the cell phone.

“If you combine cell phone use while driving, with a person who is under the influence of alcohol, there are bound to be devastating consequences for the family,” he said.

He also said that not keeping enough distance between vehicles, making abrupt or reckless channel changes without using mirrors or lights, speeding, drinking alcoholic beverages before driving and using the cell phone, are the main causes of road accidents.

On the other hand, Aguana Rodríguez recommended that citizens go to the 37 prioritized terminals to avoid illegal routes in units that have not approved the revision of safety, hygiene and comfort regulations, which is carried out prior to the authorization granted by the INTT.

Finally, the General called on citizens to rely on citizen security bodies, which are ready and willing to assist them to ensure a healthy enjoyment and a happy return.
