Iran rejects US interventionist actions against Venezuela and the Caribbean

The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, rejected the actions of the United States against the safety of navigation in the Caribbean region and considered the threat of use of force against Venezuela as a flagrant violation of the fundamental principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
During a telephone call with the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Ivan Gil Pinto, he expressed his solidarity and support for the Bolivarian People and Government and urged the international community to firmly oppose these illegal and unilateral actions that represent a clear threat to peace and stability in the region and the world.
Gil, the firm positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in expressing solidarity with the people and the elected government of Venezuela in the face of illegal and oppressive threats and sanctions from the United States, emphasized the determination of the Venezuelan government and people to defend the national sovereignty and independence of this country in the face of these pressures.
The foreign ministers of Iran and Venezuela also stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral and multilateral coordination and cooperation in international forums to confront unilateralism and defend countries' national sovereignty.
