Admiral Ali Fadavi, deputy commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported that elite units of the Tehran Armed Forces will bomb Israeli refineries and gas fields, if Tel Aviv carries out an attack against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

“If the occupiers (of Palestine) make a mistake (and attack Iran), we will attack all their energy sources (...) all their oil refineries and gas fields,” Fadavi was quoted as saying by the Mehr agency.

The admiral also stressed that Iran is a large country that enjoys many economic centers, while Israel has only three power plants and several refineries that Tehran can attack simultaneously.

On October 1, the Islamic Republic launched dozens of missiles against Israeli territory, in what Iranian President Masud Pezeshkian described as a legitimate response “for the sake of peace and security in Iran and the region.”

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) estimate that some 180 ballistic missiles were launched from Iran, most of which were intercepted; from Tehran they claim that most of the projectiles hit military and security targets.
