After the explosions of various electronic devices, such as two-way personal radios ('walkie-talkies') and pagers (pagers or 'beepers'), belonging to the Shiite group Hezbollah, which left at least 39 dead and thousands injured in Lebanon last September, planes will not be allowed to enter planes with electronic communication devices, except mobile phones.
The information was released by the spokesman of the Civil Aviation Organization, Jafar Yazerlo, who added that the measure will not only apply to devices carried by passengers, but also to those that can be carried in luggage and cargo.
“In order to maintain flight safety, passengers in the airline sector should refrain from carrying electronic communication devices other than mobile phones, such as pagers, walkie-talkies, etc., in the aircraft cabin or in their luggage,” he said.
