This Monday, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, considered the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Benjamin Netanyahu insufficient and assured that he should be sentenced to the death penalty.

“A death sentence must be issued for Netanyahu and the criminal leaders of this regime (Israel),” Khamenei said at a meeting with branches of the Islamic militias in Tehran.

The Ayatollah also accused Israel as a State that commits war crimes in Gaza and Lebanon with attacks on civilians; however, the Iranian leader affirms that Tel Aviv is not winning the war against the axis of resistance, mainly against Hezbollah and Hamas.

Last week, the ICC issued arrest warrants against Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip.
