More than 300 specialists and 42 technical units carry out search and rescue tasks 24 hours a day at the Santa Fe gold mine in Mexico located in the community of Chele. Under the coordination of the National Civil Protection Coordination, this multidisciplinary deployment integrates the joint effort of the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), the Secretariat of the Navy and the National Guard.
In this sense, the primary objective of the Mexican task force is to locate the four workers who remain trapped after the collapse that occurred last Wednesday.
Rescue operations are currently concentrated at a depth of 300 meters, where crews face a critical environment due to the accumulation of muddy material that obstructs access.
To ensure the continuity of the maneuvers, constant operational relays are carried out with the technical support of the Federal Electricity Commission and expert brigades from Chihuahua and Guanaceví. The strategic plan designed by the engineers contemplates an advance of 1.5 kilometers on the ramps to secure the galleries and access precisely the area where the miners are estimated to be located.
In order to mitigate risks and protect the integrity of rescue personnel, the authorities have implemented a rigorous structural stabilization project. This process uses thermal cement mixes to consolidate vulnerable areas of the mine.
It was also reported that a specialized shipment of expansive resin will arrive at the site this Monday, which will be applied to reinforce the side walls and prevent new landslides during the intensive excavation phase.
The Government of Mexico and state authorities reiterate their commitment to exhausting all available technological and human resources to successfully conclude this rescue mission.
Communication with the workers' families is maintained directly and permanently in the command center installed in El Rosario, ensuring transparency about technical advances and safety conditions inside the site.
