The Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (CBPC) announced Guadalajara, Mexico, as the host of the 2026 Caribbean Series, after yielding to pressure from three member countries, including the one that will be the new organizer.

The baseball leagues of the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Mexico recently announced that they would not participate in the 2026 Caribbean Series, citing “external situations beyond their control”.

The news of the change of venue was confirmed at a press conference led by Salvador Escobar Cornejo, president of the Mexican Pacific ARCO League, together with Íñigo González, executive president of the Charros de Jalisco, and Luis Alberto González, general manager of the club from Guadalajara.

Although representatives of the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation had already visited to see the progress at the organizational level and had given the go-ahead, they decided to change headquarters in the face of pressure from the historic leagues of the Caribbean Series.

So far, the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) has not spoken or confirmed whether it will attend or not.
