The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, questioned this Friday the opinions of the heads of state of Colombia, Gustavo Petro; of Brazil, Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, as well as of the former Uruguayan president, José “Pepe” Mujica, regarding the presidential elections of next July 28 in Venezuela.
Through his account on the social network X, the head of Parliament asked, after the interventionist pronouncements, if “Are you aware of the insurrectional and magnicidal plan revealed by the main spokesperson of fascism in Miami?” , referring to the confession of the former editor of the international media PanAm Post, Orlando Avenaño, who refers to the “insurrectional” approach to impose the disqualified ultra-right leader María Corina Machado in the electoral process.
Rodríguez questioned Petro, Lula and Mujica if they would “accept in their countries plans to attack the President” as have been revealed “on numerous occasions” by the Venezuelan authorities.
He explained that “the fascist organization Vente Venezuela (from Machado) never applied to be registered as a political party nor was there any nomination on their own initiative (...) that party was never registered with the National Electoral Council (CNE), nor did they seek registration on their own initiative.”
The deputy stated that "100% of the parties accredited to the CNE registered one of the 13 candidates, from across the political spectrum, competing for the presidency of Venezuela.”
“Ignorance? Ignorance? Fear? We don't meddle in anyone's business. Put your opinions wherever they fit,” Rodríguez concluded.
