The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, ratified this Monday the importance of implementing the partial reform of the Organic Hydrocarbons Law so that it adapts to the new times and is at the service of the People.

During a Public Consultation on this partial reform, led by the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez and representatives of the hydrocarbons sector, the head of Parliament stressed that “we cannot be shameless and believe that the laws of the republic are a kind of 10 commandments, or a kind of religious mandate that cannot be adapted to the needs of people, society, culture, economy, politics and current affairs as well”.

In this regard, he emphasized that the opposite is true. “It's not that people have to worship the laws, it's the other way around. Laws have to be at the service of people in order for them to work for people, so that progress can be made according to a certain condition or current situation,” he said.
