José Altuve is only six hits away from reaching 2500 hits in the MLB

The waiter and iconic figure of the Houston Astros, José Altuve, is only six undisputed points away from reaching an impressive 2,500 hits in his career in the majors, consolidating himself as one of the most consistent hitters of his generation.

The path to this feat began on July 20, 2011 at Minute Maid Park. On that day of his debut as a bigleaguer against the Washington Nationals, Altuve hit his first hit in the ninth episode against reliever Tyler Clippard's shipments. Since that 5-1 hit, Maracay's has built a legendary career that totals 2,494 hits until last Sunday, according to the newspaper El Líder.

With this brand just around the corner, the AstroBoy will become just the second player in the 65-year history of the Houston Astros (1962-2026) to reach 2,500 hits. It is surpassed only by the immortal and Hall of Famer, Craig Biggio, who left a record of 3,060 hits in 20 campaigns (1988-2007).

The Venezuelan player reaffirms his place at the top of the current game by positioning himself as the second most undisputed active player in MLB. He is second only to the initialist of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Freddie Freeman, who has accumulated 2,584 hits in 17 seasons (2010-2026).
