The constitutionalist lawyer, an expert in electoral law and electoral systems, Olga Álvarez, indicated that whoever points out the existence of fraud in an electoral process is obliged to prove it to the competent bodies.
“Whoever alleges fraud has to prove it, whoever files a complaint, the defect, has to prove it or at least present sufficient evidence,” he said.
He pointed out that any serious party that has evidence of “fraud” or inconsistencies between result and statement would go to the competent bodies to prove their complaint.
“No party that has more than 10 points would doubt in any way, and I am saying 10 points, but they say that they are 40 points apart, a person who is up to three points apart would not hesitate to present their evidence to a competent body, no one would doubt it. No serious party would doubt it, I would at least ask for an audit,” he said.
Álvarez recalled that this has not happened on the part of the opposition sector, which since before the results were known, they have refused to recognize the electoral body, to the point of refusing to sign the agreement for the recognition of the results issued by the National Electoral Council (CNE).
In turn, he emphasized the security, reliability and veracity of the 100% auditable Venezuelan electoral system, pointing out that the pressures exerted are part of a campaign to discredit the highest electoral body and position the matrix of “fraud” that justifies actions against the legitimate Government of Venezuela.
