The Venezuelan Keydomar Vallenilla won three gold medals in the Pan-American Weightlifting Championship for dominating the starting, running and total modalities in the -94 kg division, at the Atheyna Bylón Gymnasium in Panama City with a record record.
Vallenilla set his first record in the starting mode. He began the competition with the best starting record, achieving a successful first move of 167 kg. Later, he played with the stopwatch to request successive weights of 170, 171 and 172 kg. This last effective lift established him from the start as the gold medalist of the sport.
New record
However, it was not enough for the man from Caracas, who increased the load to 173 kg for his third attempt. Finally, he requested 174 kg and carried 176 kg to match the Pan-American record, but he asked for an extra kilo.
Finally, he lifted 177 kg to set a new continental record and secure the first gold medal of the night.
The silver medal went to the Ecuadorian Juan Guadamud with a 165 kg lift, while the bronze went to the Colombian Oscar Garcés with 160 kg.
Powerful environment
For the envión test, the Venezuelan showed the best starting record along with the Ecuadorian with 200 kg.
However, Vallenilla's first official attempt extended to 206 kg. For his second lift, he rose to 210 kg and raised 212 kg in his third successful move, thus earning him the gold medal in both halves and culminating his presentation.
The second place in the envión was in the hands of Guadamud with 200 kg, while the New Granada player Garcés also completed the podium with 200 kg.
