Leader Kim Jong-un claimed to have achieved the irreversible consolidation of North Korea as a nuclear power

This Thursday, leader Kim Jong-un of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) claimed to have achieved the irreversible consolidation of his status as a nuclear power.

The KCNA agency indicated that the results of the Workers' Party of Korea (PTC) congress, held between February 19 and 25, affirm that the nation has achieved a capacity of deterrence that, in the eyes of the Government, guarantees the country's security against the alleged aggressive maneuvers of foreign powers.

Leader Kim Jong-un stressed that “the irreversible and permanent consolidation of the Republic's status as a nuclear power is of paramount strategic importance” and added that the strengthening of the nuclear force will continue “as long as nuclear weapons exist on Earth and the threats of US imperialism and its allies continue.”

He also emphasized that the indispensable task of guaranteeing the nation's nuclear policy, “a true nuclear power, and the sacred struggle to make it a reality”, was solved “brilliantly”.
