Leaders of Venezuela and Iran hold a meeting to guarantee the social stability of their peoples

Regarding his visit to Kazan, Russia, where the XVI BRICS Summit is taking place, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, held a meeting with his counterpart from Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian.
Through his Telegram channel , the president specified that this meeting is aimed at “strengthening our ties of bilateral cooperation and guaranteeing our Peoples social stability”.
Relations between Caracas and Tehran were established on August 9, 1950 and reached a new level of cooperation in 1999 with the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution. Both countries have signed cooperation instruments, including memorandums of understanding, contracts and agreements, in the fields of energy, health, education, technology, transport, agriculture, housing, defense and food, among others.
In addition, they share the vision of a new world order in the Non-Aligned Movement (MNOAL), the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries (FPEG); the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), which they founded in 1960 together with Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia; and the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations.
