The Legislative Council of the state of Aragua (CLEBA) spoke out this Thursday, August 1st, against the violent actions carried out by fascist commanders and extremist right-wing actors across the country. “We categorically reject all acts of violence that want to generate destabilizing groups in the entity and in the country,” said Vicente Flores, legislator of the said entity.
“Since June, we have denounced all these actions that were guided by the leaders of the extremist right to build an atmosphere of victory through misleading polls (...) We reject these acts that degrade democracy and that have been taking place over the past few years,” Flores said.
In that vein, the mayor said that “talking in Venezuela about an electoral process is related to everyday life, since it is number 31 for the last 25 years and the CNE created all the conditions to carry out a just, transparent and peaceful process in the entity and throughout the national territory (...) We are going to defend our revolutionary process and keep the peace, no matter what it costs us.” At the end of the session, CLEBA signed an agreement to reject violence.
For her part, Normendi Pariata, president of the legislative council of the entity's capital, pointed out that the legislative council of the capital of Aragüeña also rejects acts of violence, hatred and aggression that seek to generate a climate of destabilization and seek to ignore the electoral results.
