Leonel Martínez won gold in shotgun shooting at the Ayacucho-Lima Bolivarian Games

Venezuelan Leonel Martínez won gold in shooting, shotgun and individual trap at the XX Ayacucho-Lima 2025 Bolivarian Games.

After two days of qualifying, the list of the six registered in the final was defined, Martínez placed fifth, while his compatriot Mario Soares placed sixth.

Martínez was always among the top three in the race, very close to the leader, Fernando Brol from Guatemala, whom he defeated in the final.

The third position of the podium was also in the hands of a national athlete, Mario Soares.

Trap also won bronze in the team competition, led by Leonel Martínez, Mario Soares and the young Gabriele Evangelista.

Martínez added 114 points, Soares 113 and Evangelista 104; for a total of 331 essential points for the medal. With 337 Colombia won the silver one and with 344 Peru the gold one.
