The Marabino leader, Lipso Nava, won the “Chico” Carrasquel award for Manager of the Year for the 2024-2025 season of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) for the second time in his career and again with Águilas del Zulia.

Nava returned this season with the boy team and brought Roud Robin back to the club for the first time after five seasons of absence.

The Zulian won 37 votes in first place and 13 in second place for a total of 124 points. Escorted by the leader of Cardenales de Lara, Henry Blanco (12 votes for the first and 15 for the second). While José Moreno de Bravos de Margarita completed the podium (6 votes for the first and 18 for the second)

“I am very happy with this award, because it is a recognition of my work. I thank God, my parents, my wife, my daughters, my staff, my players, the management of Águilas del Zulia and, of course, all those journalists who took me into account to make this possible,” said Nava in an LVBP press review.

He also said he was surprised by the news. “Henry Blanco and José Moreno did a great job, which was very outstanding, and I think that anyone who would have earned it would have been very well deserved,” he added.

Nava is only the sixth driver to win Manager of the Year multiple times, after achieving it in the 2016-2017 season, a harvest in which the raptors won their last crown. He joined Luis Dorante (2003-2004, 2004-2005 and 2018-2019), Alfredo Pedrique (2005-2006, 2012-2013 and 2013-2014), Marco Davalillo (2007-2008 and 2011-2012), José Moreno (2020-2021 and 2023-2024), and Wilfredo Romero (2021-2022 and 2023).
