Venezuelans Lisandro Rivero and Nerwis Maneiro won silver and bronze medals, respectively, in the invitational tournament The World's Strongest Man in weightlifting, which was held in Moscow, Russia.

At the start, Rivero lifted 115 kg and 141 kilograms in the boat, to reach a total of 256 kg, with which he won the silver medal.

For his part, Maneiro won the bronze medal after lifting 151 kg at the start and 185 kg at the start, for a total of 336 kg, according to a press release from the Ministry of Sport.

Giuliani asserted that the tournament was an opportunity for reserve athletes, such as competitive modeling. “The main team is preparing for the Pan American Major Championship to be held in Cali, Colombia from July 12 to 18, but we cannot neglect our youth team,” he said.

The participation of the Venezuelan delegation is part of the sports cooperation agreement between the two nations and served as preparation for Venezuelan weightlifters for future international commitments.
