The deaf-Olympic athlete Luis Mendoza won two gold medals in the National Road Cycling Championship that took place in Yaracuy.

The Tachirense demonstrated total dominance in the individual time trial, completing 14 km in a time of 25:10,778, from Plaza Sucre de San Felipe to the main entrance to Cacerío Jaime and back, with an average of 33.360 kilometers per hour.

Mendoza was accompanied on the podium by Ronald Blanco who won the silver medal for this event when he stopped the stopwatch at 25:19,371, while the bronze medal went to José Martínez from Trujillo with 26:45,071.

Mendoza also rose to the top of the podium in the individual road race, traveling 35 km in a time of 0:51:40 and an average speed of 58.065, through the most emblematic avenues of the city of San Felipe.

In this race, he shared the podium with Jesús Ivanovic from Tachirense who set a time of 0:51:40 and the bronze went to Capitaliano Blanco seven seconds apart.

Mendoza will represent the elite category along with Junior Jiménez, Wilson Márquez and Yerson Ferrer at the Tokyo 2025 Deaf-Olympic Games, to be held from November 15 to 26.
