On August 12, 2010, Luis Tascón Gutiérrez, a Venezuelan politician who stood out for his work within the Bolivarian Revolution, died.

A native of the state of Táchira, he began studying computer science at the University of Los Andes in Mérida, where he showed his fighting character in student groups.

Committed to Bolivarian thought together with Commander Hugo Chávez, he was a founding member of the Fifth Republic Movement (MVR). In 2006, he was part of the parliamentary group of the National Assembly in the creation of the draft of the Infogobierno Act.

“I dream of communes that manage education, that manage services,” Tascón once said.

In 2007, he remained with the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), where he demonstrated unconditional support for Commander Chávez.

“How sorry we are here for the departure of Luis Tascón. I will remember him all my life as a true revolutionary fighter. Peace to his remains!” , Commander Chávez said at the time from his Twitter account.
