Luis Vicente Frómeta, the eldest son of the legendary teacher Billo, died

Last Saturday, August 8, Luis Vicente Frómeta Bello, known artistically as Charlie Frómeta, died at 82 years of age on Margarita Island.

The musician, composer and arranger was the eldest son of the legendary maestro Billo Frómeta.

Information about the death was confirmed by Billo's Caracas Boys orchestra in a statement.

Luis Frómeta was born in Caracas on February 9, 1944, and had an outstanding career in agronomy, a discipline in which he obtained a doctorate and dedicated himself to teaching and university research for 13 years. Previously, in 1961, he formed Los Demonios del Rock, one of the pioneering rock groups in Venezuela.

Later, he consolidated his formal musical training at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston and at the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles, obtaining his degree in composition and arrangement.

From 1985 onward, he eventually began conducting Billo's Caracas Boys, providing jingles, arrangements and songs such as cumbia 'Te Fuiste ', and then founded his own orchestra in 1990, with which he released two albums: 'Así es la Vida' (1991) and 'Charlie Frómeta' (1998).
