The deputy to the National Assembly (AN), Nicolás Maduro Guerra, stressed that one of the proposals for the new legislative period 2026-2031 is to reform the commercial sector, to adapt it to the new realities of the country and the world, which aim to expand its organization and promote tourism.
During an interview on the Al Aire program, which broadcasts Venezolana de Televisión, Maduro Guerra recalled that he recently met with representatives of the informal trade and small and medium-sized merchants who live in the city of Caracas, a meeting in which several proposals emerged.
He said that the proposals are boosting tourism and Caracas has an advantage because it is 20 minutes from the state of La Guaira, which has the most important and modern
international airport and seaport in the country. “We have
a coastline that connects the entire Caribbean Sea with the Atlantic Ocean, that is,
it is a very privileged port, and the airport is growing, it has
new flights, Africa, the Middle East and Panama, so we are boosting the
economy,” he added.
On the other hand, the deputy stated that the AN will continue to work on an agenda that strengthens democracy in the country; consulting the people on strategic laws. “The role of a deputy is to create great consensus to align living forces, to talk to various sectors, associations and movements to make progress on major issues,” he added.
Regarding the Constitutional Reform,
he said that parliamentarians who will start in the new period 2026-2031
must debate in the streets with the people to carry out the
Popular Consultation, to evaluate all the proposals of the country's sectors, and thus
approve the Constitutional Reform Project.
