A gastronomic certification and a seal of national identity to promote the quality of dishes, with the objective of allowing locals and foreigners to taste the good taste of Venezuelan cuisine, was the agreement reached by the Instituto Marca País and the National Chamber of Restaurants (CANARES).

The initiative was consolidated after a working meeting between the two organizations, a space in which proposals were planned to raise the country's culinary standards to generate trust, offer new alternatives to diners and promote tourism.

The Institute and the Chamber agreed on the leading role of gastronomy as a cultural ambassador, and emphasized that emblematic dishes, such as the arepa and the pavilion, will constitute the fundamental pillars of this promotion plan.

CANARES specified that the chamber currently has 200 members, a figure that reflects the sustained growth and strength of the industry throughout the territory.

It was also emphasized that culinary innovation has already transcended Caracas. Cities such as Valencia, Maracaibo and Lechería, next to the state of Nueva Esparta, are today positioned as the epicenters of a high-level culinary offer.
