Massive blackout paralyzed the city of San Francisco in the United States this Saturday

The US state of California, this Saturday, December 20, due to a major blackout and 130,000 homes were left without electricity, according to data from the PowerOutage.com site. The most affected city is San Francisco, where almost a third of the population suffered cuts, reported the La Iguana website.
The New York Times reported that the incident was due to a power outage that began in the morning and was leaving an increasing number of neighborhoods without power supply throughout the day.
According to the San Francisco Fire Department, its personnel went on to extinguish a fire at a Pacific Gas & Electric substation in the city center and are urging residents to avoid the area.
Posts on social networks and local media reported massive closures of restaurants and stores and that there are no lights on the streets or on Christmas decorations.
The San Francisco Emergency Management Department reported that there were “significant traffic interruptions” throughout the city and urged residents to avoid non-essential travel.
