Mayor Meléndez presents program for the canonization of José Gregorio Hernández and Carmen Rendiles

The mayor of the Libertador Municipality, Carmen Meléndez, announced on her Instagram account the program of activities on the occasion of the canonization of the doctor of the poor José Gregorio Hernández and Mother Carmen Rendiles.
The activities will take place at Casa Museo Dr. José Gregorio Hernández and will begin on Saturday, October 18, 2025 with a special concert and a vigil at 7:00pm, by the Municipal Symphony Orchestra and the Orfeón Libertad or, under the direction of Daniel Gil. On Sunday, October 19, at 3:00am, the canonization ceremony will be broadcast from the Vatican Oratory.
At 10:00 a.m., a Thanksgiving Mass will be celebrated, officiated by Father Juan Carlos Maldonado, with the special participation of the Beatriz Miranda Foundation Choir, led by Beatriz Miranda.
The event will continue at 2:00 p.m., with a choral concert by the Polyphonic Andrés Sandoval Yánez, directed by Orlando Sandova l, and the Choir of the Faculty of Letters and Education of the UCV, directed by Roberto Ruiz.
At 6:00 p.m., the group Aequalis Aurea (Clear Voices), directed by Ana María Raga, will be presented. Both days, the Dr. José Gregorio Hernández House Museum will offer guided tours at special times, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Meléndez invited all Caracas families to participate in these faith meetings, which honor two key figures in Venezuelan spirituality.
