The administration led by President Claudia Sheinbaum reaffirmed its commitment to stabilize and reduce fuel prices across the country. During a meeting with the press, he stressed that his government team is constantly working on energy control strategies, assuring that his administration has as a priority “to continue maintaining and reducing the price of fuels” for the benefit of the family economy.
The president explained that one of the key points addressed by the president is the impact of bank rates on the final cost of gasoline and diesel; she explained that if it is possible to reduce the percentage charged for the use of payment terminals and other electronic methods, immediate financial relief would be generated, noting that “if these fees can be reduced, fuel costs can be reduced.”
In this regard, the president highlighted the openness to dialogue shown by financial institutions and voucher service providers. Thanks to this provision, the Federal Executive is making progress in negotiating agreements to adjust these rates, seeking a balance that favors the operation of service stations and guarantees more competitive prices for the final consumer.
The president expressed her appreciation to the private sector actors involved in these working groups, expressing her “willingness to reach an agreement regarding the commissions”.
This joint effort between the public and private sectors is emerging as a strategic measure to mitigate inflation and consolidate energy management that is more efficient and accessible to the entire Mexican people.
