The far-right president of Argentina, Javier Milei, threatened to dismiss those “responsible” for his country's vote against the blockade of Cuba, at the recent session of the United Nations General Assembly.
“All those people involved in that decision, I'm here to kick them all out (...) We are seeing the legal format by which to kick them out and make them pay,” said the libertarian, who has already dismissed former foreign minister Claudia Mondino.
The new chancellor, Gerardo Werthein, demanded the resignation of all secretaries and undersecretaries who work in the Foreign Ministry a few hours after taking office, international media reports.
Mondino, an economist with no experience in international relations, was forced to resign after Argentina's vote, contrary to the foreign policy defended by Milei, which is unconditionally aligned with the United States (USA) and Israel, the only two nations that voted against that resolution.
