In Italy, during an audacious operation that lasted less than three minutes, a group of organized criminals stole three masterpieces from the Magnani Rocca Foundation, valued at several million dollars. The robbery occurred during the early morning of March 23, affecting the artistic heritage of one of the most prestigious collections in the province of Parma.
According to local media reports, the group of hooded assailants demonstrated millimeter planning by forcing one of the entrances to the compound. In a flash action, they managed to seize the paintings 'Les Poissons' (The Fishes) by Pierre-Auguste Renoir; 'Still Life with Cherries' by Paul Cézanne; and the famous 'Odalisque on a Terrace' by Henri Matisse.
Although the criminals' original intention was to steal a larger batch of works, the activation of security systems frustrated their plans. The rapid response of internal surveillance, in coordination with law enforcement, forced the subjects to undertake an immediate flight, leaving behind the rest of the Foundation's collection.
For now, the Italian authorities are carrying out a search deployment and have launched a technical investigation to find the whereabouts of the pieces. Art experts warn that the historical and commercial value of these works makes them practically impossible to sell on the legal market, pointing to a possible commission from the international black market.
