The Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Raúl Cazal, held a working meeting in Caracas with the mayor of the Rivas Dávila municipality of the state of Mérida, Carla Pérez, for the celebration of the 425th anniversary of the town of Bailadores.

During the meeting, both authorities expressed their willingness to coordinate efforts to promote the recognition and safeguarding of the historic heritage of the town of Merida.

The Deputy Minister for Identity and Cultural Diversity, Ignacio Barreto, also participated in the meeting.

The town of Bailadores, founded on September 14, 1601, is renowned for its agricultural and flower growing activities. In addition, it was one of the towns that Liberator Simon Bolivar passed through during the Admirable Campaign, in 1813.
